It's twenty seconds till the last call

You're going "hey hey hey hey hey hey"
Lie down you know it's easy
Like we did it over summer long

I'll be anything you ask and more...

That is my summer song for '09. Not exactly sure why, I don't normally choose songs to represent a particular year. I just love that it's a rock song that's so danceable. Or is it indie rock? Whatever, it's just pure awesomeness.

I remember in '05, my HS graduation year, my summer song was Girl by Beck. Still in love with it, although it's morbid. And I think in '07, the songs were Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn & John and Lazy Eye by Silversun Pickups.
The lyrics don't really relate to the season. So I don't really know why I put them under this category. Weird, I know but it wouldn't be me any other way.

I almost forgot this one: I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. Even though the song is unbelievably repetitive. Sadly, I just found out about this song a week ago. Summer is almost over, lol. I don't like BEP which is why I found out about it pretty late. It's such a feel good song, there hasn't been one out lately.

Fill up my cup
Mazel tov
Look at her dancing
Just take it... OFF
Lets paint the town
We'll shut it down
Let's burn the roof
And then we'll do it again

I gotta feeling....that tonight's gonna be a good night.

I should create a list of all of my summer songs. Haha, I can't even bring myself make a cd mix. Eh, I'll do that in a another blog...someday.

When I was young, the summer songs were by Van Halen and Def Leppard. Shows how much times change! I remember "Pour Some Sugar On Me" from senior trip, at the beach.

Phoenix's Lisztomania was definitely one of my summer songs this year. I played the hell out of it, the build up in the middle is awesome whether driving or dancing, anywhere, anyhow.
