It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song. You can't believe it; you were always singing along. It was so easy and the words so sweet. You can't remember; you try to feel the beat.
- Regina Spektor
I don't know the exact meaning of the song but I found a meaning that relates to me in that phrase. Losing something and struggling hard to get it back. Seems like it's been a long time since I've had any inspiration. The last time I felt it was in July/August. To me that's a long time. And at one point, I thought it was because I stopped seeing Alex. Not that he's an inspiration, but a muse....kinda but not really. It's hard to explain....nearly everything I wrote/created in the summer time, he had some sort of influence (I know, I know. I made no sense whatsoever). When I stopped hanging out with him, I got lazy with song writing/photography/whatever else. Eventually stopped the flow of creativity. I thought to myself jokingly that he stole it. Now that he's back (as friends)....it's still missing.
I hate not having it. I don't even know why it left. What is the reason? Whatever the reason is, I hope that it comes back to me.
Nothing can be done to prevent it from happening since my heart is not made of stone. Though at times, I wish it was. I try to build walls, and I do but it seems pretty pointless since they are easily broken. Haha, I'm the one that breaks them down for that one person to come through. So I can be vulnerable and endure the pain that comes my way.
"You hope it don't get harmed But even if it does You'll just do it all again"
-Regina Spektor
(Because secretly, we're all masochists.)
What a way to blow that cute phrase, huh? Haha, I'm joking. But it is truly hard to act like your heart was never broken. It's kinda like that whole "learning not to touch the stove" situation for me. I got hurt. Several times with different guys. Ok, what to do to prevent it from happening again? The answer is nothing. There is nothing that anyone can do except to build walls and even those fall.
Now...to tell or not to tell. I'm afraid to tell my crush how I feel. It's kinda insane to think that it's scary to tell someone:
I love being spontaneous and the perfect day for me is to be able to run away for a day.
Sun's up, we wait...all day.
A road trip is a definite must. But to where? Honestly, it would be absolutely fun just to drive with no direction what so ever.
If only we could move away, from here. Dis-a-ppe-ar!
Who would go with me? All of my friends, the more the merrier.
(That actually looks very uncomfortable.)
Eventually we'd find a spot, preferably a field of grass in the middle of nowhere with a small lake to swim in.
Hmm....what to eat? I'd bring a small grill with to have a cook out. Hamburgers, brats, kabobs...anything goes.
And drinking beer of course.
When the day is over, we head back to our lives again.
Sun down now we have built our place Re-a-ppe-ar!

So yeah, that would be an excellent way to spend a day, running away from life. I'm sure that I'll make this day happen one day =]

That is my summer song for '09. Not exactly sure why, I don't normally choose songs to represent a particular year. I just love that it's a rock song that's so danceable. Or is it indie rock? Whatever, it's just pure awesomeness.
I remember in '05, my HS graduation year, my summer song was Girl by Beck. Still in love with it, although it's morbid. And I think in '07, the songs were Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn & John and Lazy Eye by Silversun Pickups. The lyrics don't really relate to the season. So I don't really know why I put them under this category. Weird, I know but it wouldn't be me any other way.
I almost forgot this one: I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. Even though the song is unbelievably repetitive. Sadly, I just found out about this song a week ago. Summer is almost over, lol. I don't like BEP which is why I found out about it pretty late. It's such a feel good song, there hasn't been one out lately.
Fill up my cup Mazel tov Look at her dancing Just take it... OFF Lets paint the town We'll shut it down Let's burn the roof And then we'll do it again I gotta feeling....that tonight's gonna be a good night.
I should create a list of all of my summer songs. Haha, I can't even bring myself make a cd mix. Eh, I'll do that in a another blog...someday.
Just not on here :P Yeah, it's weird because I've never really write a lot. Before, I'd force my self to sit and write something onto a page and it was usually bland and boring. I just didn't want people to get into my head so I don't write any details what so ever. Now, I just let loose and write every single thought that comes into my head, even if it's not important, like having the sudden urge to use the bathroom. Even though they seem like meaningless scribbles on a page, I read through it and get inspired to write a song. Yep, I'm a songwriter....not a good one and only write the lyrics but hey, I enjoy doing it. The only problem though is that I tend to get writer's block after just a few lines. Then I start a new song and it happens again. I've managed to complete a song, but I still think it has to go through a lot of editing still. Haha! My problem is that I expect the songs to just flow out of my head and onto the paper without editing. I'll try to just let go and do the editing after it's finished instead of during the writing process. This is all new to me :)

I'm not your typical blogger. I make constant typos and my grammar is all wrong but I'm not trying to be professional here. Just typing about anything that comes to mind or things that are going on in my life. Wanna join the ride?
